According to Public Health, these cases are all connected, but an outbreak has been declared and the Provincial Rapid Outbreak Management Team (PROMT) will be in the community to help, starting Monday, November 15, 2021.

If you are contacted by New Brunswick Public Health, Sitansisk EMO or Band Administration, please follow all directions given. Public Health phone calls may appear as Private Number when calling, please answer these calls. All community members are asking to abide by best practices in the coming days, including limiting contacts, avoiding large gatherings, maintaining physical distancing measures when in public, wearing masks, and seeking testing while staying home if you are exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19. Testing can be arranged through the Health Centre or by calling 811. Localized PCR testing is being discussed, with the Health Centre potentially operating as a testing site this week in conjunction with NB Public Health. Individuals with direct contact with positive cases are asked to follow the direction of Public Health, seek testing and monitor for the onset of symptoms of COVID-19. More information will be provided as it becomes available in the coming days. Chief and Council ask that members be sympathetic and show compassion for anyone who may have contracted the virus; there is no need for shame or stigma around the contraction of an ailment.
