Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the electors of the St. Mary’s First Nation will be held at the Maqiyahtimok Centre on Thursday, the 10th of October, 2024, beginning at 5 o’clock in the PM and lasting at least three (3) hours, for the purpose of nominating candidates for the position of Chief and Councillors on the Band Council of the said Band, for the next ensuing term. There are 12 Councillor positions and one positionf or Chief available. The election will be held at the Maqiyahtimok Centre on Thursday,t he 21st day of November, 2024.
Please note that a voter may nominate candidates by using a mail-in nomination form. You can either deliver or mail-in a written nomination and a completed, signed, and witnessed voter declaration form to the Electoral Officer before the time set for the nomination meeting OR you may nominate candidates orally at the nomination meeting. Mailed nominations not received by the Electoral Officer before the time set for the nomination meeting are void. Also note that any elector may vote by mail-in ballot.
