Notice of New COVID-19 Health Measures

Sitansisk’s COVID-19 operational standards have changed in accordance with guidance from provincial and federal agencies. These are the areas affected by the Level 3 COVID-19 Restrictions currently in place within our community: The St. Mary’s Entertainment Centre, Wolastoq Wharf, and the Pine Tree Pub are closed until further notice. Essential services will continue to operate with additional safety measures in place, this includes the Band Hall, (Including Education, Housing, Social Developments), Health, and Child and Family.

All other businesses in the community will adhere to COVID-19 regulations of operating 50% capacity with physical distancing in place and frequent sanitization.

Chief Harold Sappier Memorial Elementary School continues to operate services including Turtle Tots, Afterschool Programming, and Distance Learning.

Private and public gatherings are prohibited, but Maqiyahtimok remains operational in a limited capacity with size limits, masking, and physical distancing.

Thank you for keeping our community safe,
Sitansisk Chief and Council
